The College of Engineering and Computer Science is committed to providing quality programs of education and research. We promote a stimulating and productive environment for students, faculty and staff.
Through its 21 degree programs in Engineering and Computer Science, the College prepares its graduates to become leaders in their profession. It conducts basic and applied research in interdisciplinary areas focused on enhancing the quality of life in our society, and provides professional and community service.
The college has extensive research programs funded by business, industry and government. These initiatives are the hallmark of the college. Our research faculty represent a wide diversity of interests and expertise and have demonstrated leadership in focused research initiatives: healthcare, assistive technologies, data mining, wireless sensor networks, multimedia processing, environmental issues, transportation, building materials, corrosion, renewable energy, robotics, autonomous vehicles for ocean exploration, defense and security, acoustics, sonar and nanomaterials.
