Fee Liability
Formally dropping a course(s) before the end of the DROP/ADD period
relieves the student of fee liability for the course(s) dropped.
Formally dropping a course(s) after the DROP/ADD period does not
change fee liability. Payment must be made for the course(s) dropped.
Once a student registers through FEEDS, they are liable for tuition
and any late payment fees. If you should decide to drop a course,
an official drop or withdrawal form must be processed through the
FEEDS office.
If your company pays the tuition, you must still complete a drop
or withdrawal form. Your company is fee liable if they have authorized
the university to bill for your tuition. If your company does not
pay, you are personally fee liable.
NOTE: Tuition and Fees Subject to Change.
Residency Requirements
In order to be classified as a Florida resident and be eligible
for in-state tuition rates, a student must have resided in Florida
for one year prior to the first day of classes for a given term.
All new non-degree seeking and former students who have not been
enrolled at FAU during the past 12 months must complete the State
University System "Non-Degree
Residency Classification" form; students that have previously
attended FAU as non-residents must complete the "Request
for Residence Reclassification for Degree-Seeking Students"
form at the time of registration. See also the "Residency Reclassification Instructions".
Failure to complete one of these forms will result in billing
the non-resident tuition rate. Call the Office of the Registrar
with any questions at (561) 297-2408.
