EDC BioTech Conference
May 11th, 2011 (All day)This year marks the 10th anniversary of EDC's Life Science conference, which will take place on May 11, 2011 and be hosted at Florida Atlantic University where it began in 2002. The theme of the conference will be "Growing South Florida's Life Science Cluster", with a specific focus on Biotechnology and
Molecular Medicine and future plans for the I-95 Life Sciences Corridor Initiative linking academia and industry. Specific topics to be covered include:
* Promising basic and translational research from academia
* Blended life science and technology to advance research
* Previews of local biotech startup companies including faculty startups
* Impact of regional medical schools on the growth of the life science cluster
* Industry academic partnerships
* Workforce development for tomorrow's industry
The conference features keynote speakers and panel discussions covering South Florida's pipeline of emerging life sciences technologies; seed and venture capital funding; Risks and rewards of biotech investments; and efforts to uncover the untapped potential of South Florida Life Science cluster.
