Engineering Design Lab Information

Labs
Room 150 - Robotics Lab, 341- Senior Design Lab, 341 and 345 Science and Engineering Building
Room 324B, Science and Engineering Building, Computer Science and Engineering Lab

Lab Access
Students must go to room 340 in the Science and Engineering building to get card access to the labs at the beginning of each term. Computer Science and Computer Engineering students can also go to room 311 for card access from the Technical Services Group (TSG).

Basic Rules and Regulations that Apply to All Labs

  • To use the lab facilities and equipment you must be enrolled in Engineering Design I or II, or have special permission from the College of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Use your student ID card to ONLY admit yourself
  • Always keep the doors CLOSED
  • No smoking, drinking, or eating allowed in the labs
  • Cleanup your area when you are ready to leave
  • Lab equipment, hardware, software, and documents MAY NOT be checked out
  • Do not INSTALL, COPY, DELETE or MODIFY any software in the labs
  • Stay at the station you are assigned to in the lab until the end of the project
  • Personal components related to your project may be stored in the lab until your project is completed
  • Conserve consumable items and reuse working items.

Security
The labs are continuously videotaped for student security and against lab vandalism.

Problem Reporting
The following problems should be reported to the lab contacts, or to the course coordinators.

  • Any hardware or software failure
  • Discovery of any lost or damaged items
  • Abuse in any form in the lab.

Penalties
Any violation and/or abuse in any form of any of the lab regulations and/or facilities may result in a disciplinary action and loss of lab access privileges.
