Administration
College Committees
The following are a list of the College of
Engineering and Computer Science committees that aid in the administration
of the college and report to the Dean, Dr. Karl K. Stevens.
- Executive Committee
Assists the Dean in the day-to-day operation of the College, by advising him on matters of executive function, budgetary
policy, extra-college policy, and other matters delegated to it by the Faculty.
- Personnel
Reviews the promotion and tenure recommendations submitted to the College and makes tenure and promotion
recommendations to the Dean. Also advises the Dean on matters of personnel policy concerning the Faculty,
and acts on behalf of the faculty on matters of faculty concern.
- Policy and Development
Advises the Dean on formulation and execution of College policies and to initiate, discuss, evaluate, and
recommend short and long range plans for the College. Also represents all matters of faculty concern not within the
domain of other College committees.
- Graduate Studies
Coordinates procedures among the departments affecting administration of graduate programs and graduate student affairs.
Also reviews and recommends action on proposals for new courses and degree programs and other proposed
changes to the graduate curricula administered by the College. The Committee Chair serves as the College of
Engineering and Computer Science representative to the University Graduate Programs Committee.
- Undergraduate Studies
Coordinates procedures among the departments affecting administration of baccalaurate programs and undergraduate student affairs.
Also reviews and recommends action on proposals for new courses and degree programs and other proposed
changes to the undergraduate curricula administered by the College. The Committee Chair serves as the College
of Engineering and Computer Science representative to the University Undergraduate Programs Committee.
- Student Services
Assists the Director of the Division of Engineering Student Services with community college and high school relations and with student
matters such as recruitment, retention, award of scholarships, and student professional development.
- Petitions
Managed by the Division of Engineering Student Services, assists students with academic petitions. Contact 561-297-2952 or

- ABET 2000
Taskforce
Serves as a focal point for development and implementation of plans to align undergraduate engineering
curricula, activities, practices, and procedures with the ABET 2000 Accreditation
Criteria.
